A 30 day kettlebell challenge that is simple, yet clearly devastatingly effective: 10,000 swings in 30 days!
Now, I’m a bit late on the uptake, but decided to start right away, and just wondered if anyone out there wanted to join me? There’s more info on Lisa’s site: http://www.nofearfitness.com/articles/10000-swing-challenge.php and there is a Twitter ‘group’ at #10kswings where you can update others on your progress – with something like this, social support and accountability is going to be vital, otherwise it may be all to easy to write it off part way through!

Great Plan – it is maybe what I need to get my weights up so i guess i might start light and build up over the 30 days, i have between a 4kg, 8kg, 10kg and 12kg now!

I started my quest for 10,000 swings today. I am on the 6 days per week schedule and completed 417 2-handed swings with my comparatively wimpy 20 LB KB.
My goal is get my body fat from 22.5 to 22.0 at the end of this 30 days!
Great, well done! I’m planning to shave 2 inches of each measurement, not neccesarily all in the 30 days but at least half!
I did another 500 today, 1/10th done and only one small blister!
That is a good idea, start on the 10 kg, move up to the 12 and get a 14 or 16 on order! Hol was fab and will have to arrange to catch up soon!

Hi i started today. I did 500 altogether a combination of 2 arm and 1 arm. I used the 8kg for the first 100 then moved onto the 12kg. I haven’t used my bells for ages and boy it felt good !
Day 4: I toughed out the blisters that have formed on my hands and completed 435 for a total of 1765 in 4 days. Only 8235 to go…

I am doing the 10,000 KB swings in 30 days challenge. I started on the 9the and am doing 350 swings a day…I only have a 20lb KB but am planning to get a heavier one soon…my question though is I am following you on twitter and am posting my progress on my twitter site but can’t figure out how to join the #10kswings group on twitter and can’t find any useful help on the site as how to do so and thought I’d ask you here if you can help.
Hey Sarah, it’s not a group you join on Twitter, just have to post the #10kswings every time you tweet about it so everyone can see each other’s tweets by searching on that! Glad you’re in!

After a foot injury and total exercise meltdown the past 6 months, this is the perfect challenge to get back into “the swing of things”. Aggh…bad pun. The heaviest weight I currently have is 20# but is probably just as well for starting back up. Finished my 7th day yesterday and am on track with between 350 to 500 per day. Thanks for the inspiration to get back into gear. Brynne

Hey Brynne, that should work, and when you type #10kswings in your tweet will be seen by everyone else… Not sure why it’s not showing up for you!

I am doing the 10,000 swings…I started Feb 9th and have 5850 done so far..only 4150 to go by March 10th : ) I am posting my progress on twitter but for whatever reason it doesn’t my post doesn’t show up on the #10kswings…I’m adding it to all my post but still not showing up so I thought I’d post my progress here too

Hi all 10000 swingers,
Completed by 10,000 in 29 days.
Results include: 1.8 percentage point change in body fat now down to 20% – woo hoo. Loss of .75 inches on waist and 2″ on abdomen. No change on the hips, though (sigh). Observations: Had the best results on week 1. Sick during week 2 and had no results ( only had 1700 swings that week). Probably should have bought a heavier KB halfway through to continue seeing results comparable to week 1.
